Wellington train derails during morning commute

A train has derailed near Wellington train station this morning. The Porirua service derailed at Wellington Junction just after 8am. A KiwiRail spokeswoman said there were no reports of injuries. One passenger, Chelsea Torrance, wrote on Twitter: "There is a train. It has derailed. I am stuck on a in the middle of nowhere with an estimate wait time of 30-60 minutes." The Hutt Valley, Kapiti and Wairarapa lines have all been postponed in the meantime.
