Armed offenders squad stood down

An armed offender alert in the Christchurch suburb of Parklands has ended without incident.

The armed offenders squad entered a house in Queenspark Dr after concerns from people in the area about a man in the property.

However, Inspector Peter Hegarty, said there were no issues with the individual and police left the area soon after the house was enterted and questioning him.

Cordons had been set up in the parklands area and residents were told to stay in their homes during the police operation.
