Gas leak forces evacuation
Traffic was disrupted and people were evacuated from an area near the Hub Hornby after contractors discovered a gas pipe leaking this afternoon.
A Hub Hornby spokesman said while contractors were demolishing the Hornby Junction Buffet Restaurant on Carmen Rd, they discovered a disconnected gas pipe which had been leaking into the building.
A 50m cordon was set up and half of Carmen Rd was closed, which caused traffic disruption.
Fire and police attended.
No-one was injured.
