Homes threatened by fire
A scrub fire is threatening homes south of Christchurch.
Ten tankers and appliances are fighting the blaze in the Selwyn Rd area near Rolleston.
Firefighters are also battling other scrub fires at Waterloo Rd and Shands Rd, as temperatures soar into the high 20s, and are fanned by strong nor'westerlies.
