Make a healthy start to 2013
Looking for a healthy lifestyle gift this festive season?
Purchase entry vouchers for The Star City2Surf with Powerade which is set for Sunday, March 24.
A fun event for young and old, serious and not so serious, the City2Surf has become a Christchurch institution over 38 years and is the South Island's most popular fun run.
More than 8000 people took part last year when the event returned after a year's absence due to earthquake damage making it impossible to stage.
Event organisers were thrilled with positive feedback on the new route, which started at Centennial Park and followed the Heathcote River to the Ferrymead playing fields.
"As Christmas festivities increase and New Year resolutions are set, we feel now is a great time to commit yourself and to inspire or challenge others to participate alongside you in the 2013 City2Surf," event organiser Monique Maynard said."
"The event also provides a great team building opportunities, creating happier, healthier workplaces and a fun activity for various sports and school groups.
"We certainly encourage company colours and crazy costumes to be worn on the day and are adding an exciting new prize just for this. The winner will be determined by the participants on the day"."
Entry into the City 2 Surf with Powerade or Heart Foundation 6km distance is only $15 a person, with children under five free.
The healthy lifestyle gift vouchers are available on line at www.starcity2surf.co.nz or from The Star office, 12 Venture Pl, Middleton.
