Man charged with arson appears in court

 A 38 year old man accused of breaking into three Christchurch properties then torching them has appeared in court for the second time on six burglary and three arson charges.

Police say the fires, at a Lyttelton Street house, a Spreydon Baptist Church property and Barrington Street medical centre, caused $600,000 worth of damage.

APNZ reports Keri Wakefield's lawyer asked that he be remanded in custody until January 22nd to enable more disclosure on the arson matters.
