Harewood designer Marjolein Kemena is spreading a little love at the Ellerslie International Flower Show, which opens today North Hagley Park.

For three years, she has hoped for a chance to do her speciality - weddings - and this year's theme, Whatever the Weather, finally gave her that opportunity. The bride and groom may have a little trouble prancing down the aisle though - their feet are encased in red wire.

Christchurch's Rebecca Hammond and Grant Stephens, from H & S Landscapes, won the supreme judges' award and the supreme design award last night.

Jay Van Lent and Stephen Mapletoff, from ARKO Exterior Architecture, also of Christchurch, won the supreme construction award.

The Ellerslie International Flower runs until Sunday. Admission for adults is $35 .
