Dane Rumble is among the New Zealand music stars headlining this year's Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park.

Drew Neemia, Tuheme Rongonui and Michael Murphy are just some of the talent confirmed for Christchurch's November 24 concert.

Familiar faces will include seasoned performers Frankie Stevens and Jackie Clarke and hosts Simon Barnett and Gary McCormick.

A 200-strong cast of singers, dancers and performers have been busy rehearsing for the free event to be held in Hagley Park.

The Motown Experience and country duet The Heartleys will entertain the audience alongside Rangi Ruru Dance Club, aerial artist Skye Broberg, Takumi Taiko Drumming and many more acts.

Jamie McDell, singer of radio hit You'll Never Take That Away, will also be making a special appearance in support of Surf Life Saving, Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park's charity of choice.

The Christchurch concert will be the 39th performance in the show's history, followed by the 40th in Auckland on December 8.

The first Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park was held in Auckland in 1994, with 18 so far in Auckland, 16 in Christchurch and four in Wellington.

The audience will once again be delighted by the 22m high Christmas tree, complete with jumbo-sized decorations, and over 500kg of fireworks and special effects will be used for the finale.
