Year 7 and 8 schools rugby league tournament

A record entry of 17 teams took part in the fourth annual Year Seven and Eight schools rugby league tournament at Hagley Park last week.

Thousands of Cantabrians and visitors took the opportunity to view colourful displays of all shapes and sizes on offer at the Ellerslie International Flower Show held in Christchurch's North Hagley Park. Show managing director David Mee said many of the plants and flowers displayed at Ellerslie will be put to good use around Christchurch after the show. Hundreds of plants and floral art will make its way to rest homes, charity organisations and community garden projects such as 'Greening the Rubble'
