Francis Bacon Portrait of Michel Leiris 1976
Francis Bacon Portrait of Michel Leiris 1976
Francis Bacon's paintings are gutsy, controversial and unforgettable. They speak of alienation, isolation and the brutality of man. This summer at the Art Gallery of NSW is first major exhibition of Bacon's work to be seen in Australia. Some 50 rare paintings as well as archival material from his studio, films and photographs give an unrivalled view into the work and life of this master of post-war British art. Part of Sydney International Arts Series, bringing the world's outstanding exhibitions to Australia.
